Who is the fastest elevator in the world?
Where in the world is the fastest elevator? How many kilometers per hour does it travel? Since 1955, in the Guinness Book of Records there is the category for the fastest elevators.

The world's fastest elevator is located in the tallest building in the world, the Taipei 101 skyscraper in Taiwan, which is 508 meters high. These elevators - because there are two - develop a speed that is close to 17 meters per second, ie over 60 km / h. Through their shaft, which has a height of 382.2 meters, they raise 24 people to a balcony with panoramic views, on the 89th floor, in 30 seconds.
The elevators have an aerodynamic shape, which prevents the hissing sounds that are created when the chamber moves at high speed inside a narrow shaft. In addition, the cabins are equipped with pressure stabilizers, so as not to clog the ears of passengers. For greater comfort, the elevators also have electronic vibration damping systems. The elevator sensors record possible jolts and send the data to the counterweight, which neutralizes the vibrations.
These two express elevators are not the only means of serving the 12,000 people who move daily in the building. The Taipei 101 skyscraper has a total of 61 elevators, of which 34 are two-storey, as well as 50 traditional escalators.
Fifty years ago, the fastest elevator was traveling at 426 meters per minute, or 25.6 km / h.
